School Governing Body Training
School governing bodies, which are essential for an effective schooling system in South Africa, are grappling with delivery and good governance issues. These affect learners’ progress and results.
BEDU’s work assists student governing bodies in understanding the implementation process of projects, the basic management cycle and basic principles of constructive partnerships. Our interventions explore ways of making school governance more transparent, accountable and successful.
Key strategies include:
- Strengthening schools’ governance, especially their capacity to secure respectable results.
- Providing schools’ governing bodies with the necessary skills to implement their school and social development plans.
- Rebuilding support for the role of governing bodies as an essential component of school governance.
